Leading Analyst Firm Positions CaseCentral as a Visionary within its eDiscovery Magic Quadrant

Cloud-based eDiscovery software company offers eDiscovery process automation and best-of-breed of features for processing, review, analysis and production

SAN FRANCISCO – May 16, 2011 –CaseCentral, the leader in secure, cloud-based eDiscovery software for corporate counsel and law firms to simplify eDiscovery, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner Inc. in the "Visionaries" quadrant of its 2011 Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software report.i

According to the report, automation was a key factor for inclusion in the Visionaries quadrant: “Although we recognize that the entire e-discovery process cannot be automated, we do believe that this push toward as much automation as possible is the right approach as it offers high leveragability for vendors and cost-effectiveness for customers.”ii

Gartner also predicts that, “By 2013, software as a service (SaaS) and business process utilities will account for 75% of the revenue derived from processing, review, analysis and production of electronically stored information (ESI).”iii We believe this finding highlights the efficient and cost-effective delivery model of cloud-based eDiscovery software like CaseCentral’s.

CaseCentral’s Total Discovery Management approach offers customers a proven way to simplify the eDiscovery business process and clearly understand how much time and resources are being spent on eDiscovery. Leveraging the CaseCentral eDiscovery Platform, corporations gain superior visibility into case statistics and history, especially across matters, resulting in increased time and cost savings and lower risk throughout the most expensive stages of eDiscovery.

CaseCentral’s Total Discovery Management and eDiscovery Platform deliver many unique benefits to customers:

  • CaseCentral offers corporations and law firms the first integrated cloud-based, multi-matter eDiscovery platform for Processing, Early Case Assessment, Analysis, Review and Production needs.  Leveraging an enterprise-grade infrastructure and a powerful, private cloud delivery model, CaseCentral provides the centralized environment necessary for in-house attorneys and litigation support professionals simplify eDiscovery projects while enabling seamless collaboration with users outside the firewall, including service providers and outside counsel.
  • CaseCentral offers multi-matter, multi-party functionality with a centralized litigation repository that allows work product re-use from matter to matter, including re-use of searches and queries, along with a best-of-breed set of features for processing, review, analysis and production.
  • CaseCentral's multi-matter legal repository allows work to be leveraged between cases, saving money and time on collection, processing, analysis and review. CaseCentral also allows for the standardization of case data, processes and workflow via templates, meaning new cases can be set up quickly from existing, approved best practices.
  • CaseCentral’s workflow engine for eDiscovery process analytics is delivered via an eDiscovery dashboard. The process analytics and dashboard give eDiscovery managers a real-time, business intelligence view into review rates, quality rates, costs per document, firm or user, case timelines and comparative metrics across matters; this enables, for example, cross-case checks on prior productions in order to avoid inadvertent production or coding errors.
  • CaseCentral pioneered productization of connector and automation infrastructure that allows for automated transfer of case data and ESI in conjunction with a disruptive pricing model that eliminates standard processing fees for data received via this delivery mechanism and maintains chain of custody.

“For over 17 years CaseCentral has been an eDiscovery visionary, driving industry innovation by inventing capabilities such as a centralized, multi-matter legal repository and a real-time eDiscovery dashboard offering customers critical business intelligence and metrics about their cases,”  said Steve d’Alencon, chief marketing officer, CaseCentral.  "We believe this recognition from Gartner confirms our strategic vision of providing customers with a simplified, transparent and predictable approach to eDiscovery delivered via secure, private cloud-based software.
